Masters curling champs crowned

The Masters men's and women's provincial curling championships, held at the Olds Curling Club are now over. In the men's final on Sunday, the Fred Armstrong rink of Red Deer beat the Gary Greening rink of Edmonton 6-2 in seven ends.

In the men's final on Sunday, the Fred Armstrong rink of Red Deer beat the Gary Greening rink of Edmonton 6-2 in seven ends.

In ladies action in a battle of Calgary rinks, the Diane Foster rink downed the Heather Paul-Scott rink 8-5 in eight ends.

Not only was that a battle of Calgary rinks, it was a battle of rinks from one club. Both teams play out of the Inglewood Curling Club in that city.

The Masters were held at the Olds Curling Club from Feb. 22-26.
