"I just wanted to make sure they knew how proud I was of them," said head coach Sarah Hilworth after the game.
"There's not one soul that's not proud of everything we've done this year. I told them to keep their heads high. They played an outstanding game. It was a back and forth game. They played very well against us. It really could've gone either way."
One of the highlights for forward Cassidy Holt was serving as team captain.
"It's an honour. I take a lot of pride in that and leading the girls on and off the ice, it's just a huge privilege," Holt said.
The Broncos have two games left, both against the Red Deer College Queens.
They close the season on Feb. 19 at home.
"Our plan is to go as hard as we can and not change a beat. Make it super hard and beat the girls on the board and on the ice and make it so they don't want to look forward to playing us next year," Holt said.
Hilworth said the team made strides toward establishing a winning culture and isn't far from being a playoff contender.
As their season ends, players will then become the fans, with plans to attend the midget A female provincial championship being held in Olds next month.
"I know we'd like to do more of that involvement and get more kids coming and visiting us in the dressing room. The community's been so good to us," Holt said.
