Grizzlys go three for four

The Olds Grizzlys came away with only one win in four games last week while playing four games in five days.

The Grizzlys lost to the Okotoks Oilers 5-3 on Jan. 7, beat the Calgary Canucks 5-4 in overtime the following night, lost 3-2 to the Lloydminster Bobcats on Jan. 10 and lost 3-1 to the Spruce Grove Saints on Jan. 11. The one victory gives the Grizzlys 43 points, leaving them sixth in the south division of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The Grizzlys were outshot by the Oilers 35-22, but then outshot the Canucks 51-31.

They also outshot the Bobcats 38-22 and were outshot 24-14 by the Saints during the week. The Grizzlys were six for 17 on the power play during the week and gave up five goals in 20 short-handed situations.

Captain Spencer Dorowicz had three goals and four assists during the four games, giving him a league-leading 32 goals. He is also tied with Nicolas Jones of the Sherwood Park Crusaders for the league lead in points with 57 after games on Jan. 12.
