Girls finish second in high school basketball tournament

Olds High School's junior varsity girls basketball team finished second in its tournament held over the weekend. The Ralph Klein Centre was host to teams from 13 different schools from December 5-6.

The Ralph Klein Centre was host to teams from 13 different schools from December 5-6.

In the final game, the Spartans fell 51-33 to Hugh Sutherland School Kodiaks.

On their way there, they defeated Stettler 56-40 in the semifinals and Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School 49-16 in the quarters.

Olds High School's boys team finished sixth in the tournament, losing the fifth-place game to South Central High School. They beat Sundre High School 72-28 in the consolation semifinals.

The Spartans dropped their opening game 51-39 to Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School.
