Flood postpones charity hockey game

The fifth annual Rocky Mountain Hockey Challenge has been postponed due to the flooding across Southern Alberta.

The fifth annual Rocky Mountain Hockey Challenge has been postponed due to the flooding across Southern Alberta.

The game, in support of RCMP Victims' Services, was to be played on June 30, but due to victims' services across the region now being taxed by the flood response, the game has been put off to a later date.

The game was to take place at the Edge School for Athletes in Springbank.

Until the game can be rescheduled, Wild Rose MP Blake Richards' constituency office will continue accepting donations in support of victims' services groups. Organizers are currently working on a new date for the game, possibly in August or September.
