Eagles lose a heartbreaker against Bentley

After the first two periods Bentley outshot the Innisfail Eagles 30-13 but the hometown birds still had a 2-0 lead on two goals ñ including one on the power play ñ by Chad Ziegler.

But at 6:46 in the third the Generals finally got one past Larose on a power play marker by Garrett Watson.

And then with 36 seconds left in the game, Bentley tied the game up on a goal by Donald Morrison.

After regulation time Bentley had out shot the Eagles 44 to 22.

And at 4:29 in the first overtime period, the Generals claimed a 3-2 win on a goal by Kyle Bailey.

Ziegler was named the Eagles star of the game while Generals goalie Travis Yonkman was chosen Bentley's player of the game.

The Eagles will close out its Chinook Hockey League regular season at home this Friday against the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs. Innisfail leads the Chiefs in second place by one point in the standings while the Generals have already claimed top spot.
