OLDS — It’s been a challenging year for Olds College Broncos athletic teams — not only because of COVID restrictions, but also because they’ve been up against some tough competition and that’s been reflected in the standings.
Going into last weekend, the men’s basketball team was in sixth place in the eight-team south division of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) with a 3-7 record.
Broncos spokesman and men's basketball head coach Harrison Corolis said they’re now heading into a bunch of make-up games, due to COVID.
The women's basketball team was tied for sixth place out of eight teams in the ACAC south division with a 3-9 record.
As of last week, the men's volleyball team ranked fifth out of seven teams in the ACAC south division with 6-6 record.
The women's volleyball team had a 5-7 record in conference play and were ranked sixth out of seven teams in the ACAC south division.
The women's hockey team was in third place among four teams in ACAC women's hockey with a 3-6 record in conference play.
The Broncos badminton team is anticipating hosting the 2022 ACAC badminton championships in the Ralph Klein Centre.
“A date will be released soon as adjustments are being made," Corolis wrote in an email.
