Lund to seek re-election

Progressive Conservative MLA Ty Lund says if he wins his party's nomination in the Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre constituency he plans to run the next provincial election campaign on a combination of his past record and his future plans.

Progressive Conservative MLA Ty Lund says if he wins his party's nomination in the Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre constituency he plans to run the next provincial election campaign on a combination of his past record and his future plans.The sixth-term MLA for the riding, Lund, 73, announced Friday that he will again seek his party's nomination in the constituency.First elected in 1989, Lund has held several minister portfolios.ìI'd like to dwell on what we need to do better in Alberta, not just stay with the past,î Lund told the Gazette. ìI'm not a bit ashamed of my record. I'm proud of my record because I've done a lot of things.ìI can't say I look forward to election campaigns because they are strenuous, but nevertheless it's democracy and we have to go through it.îA date for the Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre PC constituency nomination vote has not been set, but will likely take place sometime in January, he said.
