A 29-year-old man charged after a woman's body was found in a ditch outside Olds in May will have his preliminary hearing in November 2012.Bashir Gaashaan faces charges of first-degree murder and interfering with a body in the death of Jenna Cartwright, 21, whose body was found about 15 kilometres northwest of Olds on May 3.Cartwright was last seen in Red Deer on March 29, police said.Gaashaan's preliminary hearing will be held in Red Deer provincial court starting on Nov. 9, 2012, the court said last week.Gaashaan, who was arrested in Ontario in June and returned to Red Deer, remains in custody.Preliminary hearings are held to determine if there is enough evidence to send an accused to trial.Gaashaan's lawyer, Will Willms of Red Deer, did not return calls seeking comment.
