CREMONA – At the recent regular council meeting, councillors voted on a couple of changes to the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) bylaw.

The main change was in Section 501, which now states: The FCSS advisory board shall hold regular meetings as agreed upon by the board.

In other council news, council agreed to send a letter of support for Carstairs' application for an Alberta Community Partnership Program grant.

"It's for a grant to engage a facilitator for the development of mutual aid agree for fire services and regional fire services partnership agreement," said Luana Smith, Village of Cremona CAO.

The village will be receiving some shingle grind from the Mountain View Regional Waste Management Commission.

"The waste commission has shingle grind that all the municipalities contributed to the cost of," said Smith. "You can use it for roads or various parking lots. We're going to take our portion of the shingle grind. If any other municipality doesn't want theirs, we'll take it."

The commission is offering Cremona 71 tonnes of material. The cost, which has already been spent, was $17,855.45 for Cremona.
