The sounds and rhythms of Uganda's Watoto Children's Choir will be resonating through the halls of Innisfail Jr/Sr High on April 8 in the student gathering area.

ìBeautiful Africa: A New Generationî, an evening of vibrant, original African music, dance routines and life-transforming stories will be presented by the Watoto Children's Choir starting at 7 p.m. on April 8 at the Innisfail Jr/Sr High.

ìWe are pleased to help bring the Watoto Children's Choir to Innisfail,î said Dwight Budden, pastor of the Parkland Community Church. ìTheir high energy musical performance along with their inspirational message is sure to have children and adults dancing in the aisles.î

Watoto, a holistic care program, was initiated to serve the dire needs of Africa, and the Watoto people are dedicated to rescue the vulnerable and to raise them up to be leaders so they can rebuild their nation, said Budden.

ìMany of the singers on the tour are going to be the Watotan leaders of tomorrow,î added Budden. ìEach child in the Watoto Children's Choir has suffered the loss of one or both parents as a result of HIV/AIDS, war and/or poverty. These children are international ambassadors for their people.î

Living in Watoto Children's Villages, the choir children receive the care and nurturing they need to grow up as productive citizens of their country, said Budden.

Established in 1994, the choir is touring in support of ìLiving Hopeî, a Watoto program that has transformed the lives of women in Kampala and war-torn Gulu in northern Uganda.

Information on the Watoto Beautiful Africa tour can be found by visiting www.watoto.com. Admission is free to the public but a goodwill offering will be taken to support Living Hope.
