Innisfail town council and town staff said participation in the Red Deer Home Show March 8-10 was a positive for the community.

A brief discussion about the town's participation at the event occurred during council's regular meeting on March 11. It was the first time the town participated in the annual home show.

“I seriously talked to a couple people that it sounds like probably they are going to build in Innisfail,” Coun. Heather Taylor said.

Town CAO Helen Dietz said that residents of Innisfail that noticed the town's presence in the show were happy to see the community promoted.

“And there were quite a few opportunities to talk to developers, builders, different people that are building in communities in this area that were happy to see that there was land and lots available in Innisfail,” she added

“I talked to two or three people that are serious about building in Innisfail and it was because we were there,” Coun. Jason Heistad said. “It was a positive.”

It cost the town $2,300 to participate in the home show.
