INNISFAIL – A little encouragement can go a long way when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Members of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) from across Central Alberta gathered in Innisfail for their annual Fall Rally on Oct. 5.

The one-day event was co-hosted by Innisfail TOPS chapters AB 2525 and AB 5342.

“It went very well. Everybody really enjoyed themselves, we had a lot of good comments and a lot of positive feedback,” said Lori Tapley, leader for Innisfail chapter AB 5342.

More than 160 people from across the region were in attendance, she noted.

The one-day event included activities, exercises, an awards presentation, door prizes, a silent auction and guest speakers.

Tapley said the rally helped area members with their weight loss journey.

“I know that people were very encouraged, especially with the speakers there, including (area coordinator) Elaine Sinotte and Darlene Shiner. Darlene was able to really encourage people with her message, knowing that you can do it no matter how hard it is. It is possible,” Tapley concluded.

Innisfail TOPS chapters hold weekly meetings every Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening at the Innisfail United Church.
