Second-degree murder charge laid

A charge of second-degree murder was laid against a man accused of killing his father last week. On Nov. 5, Innisfail RCMP were called to a residence at Red Lodge Estates around noon.

A charge of second-degree murder was laid against a man accused of killing his father last week.

On Nov. 5, Innisfail RCMP were called to a residence at Red Lodge Estates around noon. From there, they initiated an investigation that is being led by the Red Deer Major Crime Unit.

At a press conference held at the Innisfail detachment Nov. 7, police announced a charge of second-degree murder had been laid against Aaron Guilbault, 31, in the death of his father Timothy Guilbault, 58.

Timothy was a former Red Deer city councillor and a Calgary businessman.

Aaron appeared in Red Deer provincial court Nov. 7 and is due back on Nov. 21.
