Shank call The Innisfail RCMP were called to Bowden Institution after an inmate created a shank. The police were called on March 26. The inmate has been charged with possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public.

The police were called on March 26. The inmate has been charged with possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public.

The shank was a sharpened toothbrush.

Diesel debacle

A business on 49 Avenue was broken into and tools and diesel stolen overnight March 22.

Howell's Excavating Ltd. was entered via a forced door. “Lots of hand tools were taken,” said Cpl. AJ Mand.

Mand said 800 litres of diesel were taken from four different machines. There are no suspects.

Dead horses

Three horses were left dead after they were hit by two different vehicles on the QE II Highway during the night of March 24.

The horses were on both sides of the highway just north of the Bowden Fas Gas. Police were not aware of any specific injuries that occurred to the drivers of the vehicles, which were towed from the scene.

Mand said it is unsure where the horses came from.

Domestic assault

A woman was charged after a domestic assault took place at 9:30 p.m. on March 27.

The assault occurred within Innisfail and was described by police as “minor.”

Church mischief

The wood sign outside of the Christ Lutheran Church in Spruce View was damaged overnight on March 23.

The wood around the sign was pried at and damaged. There are no suspects.

Liquor caper

A male damaged cans and signs at the Penhold Liquor Store when he attempted to steal some alcohol.

The Springbrook resident was charged with mischief and breaching his probation order. According to his probation order, he was not supposed to be in any liquor stores.

Damaged wellsite

On March 27 it was reported that damage had been done to a solar panel and battery box on a wellsite located east of Innisfail.

The damage would have been done during the two weeks leading up to the report, police said.

Car concerns on 48 Street

Two different car incidents took place on 48 Street.

On March 27 at 12:15 p.m. a resident reported someone had taken the lugnuts off the tires of a Dodge truck.

On March 28, someone had entered an unlocked Chevrolet Malibu. The contents of the glovebox were left out. Police said someone had tried to steal the contents.
