RED DEER COUNTY – City of Red Deer firefighters were called this week to assist the rural municipality with a fire at Red Deer County Centre.

On May 28, Red Deer County Fire Services requested mutual aid to combat the fire that was in a generator shed immediately adjacent to the county centre on Rge. Rd. 275.

County Fire Services had already been called to a large structure fire in the Pine Lake area when the fire began, said county officials in a news release.

They added City of Red Deer Fire Services responded with two engines and a tender truck.

Officials said that upon arrival the fire was quickly extinguished with only minor damage to the generator shed, and no damage to the county centre.

Red Deer County Fire Services is thanking their firefighting partners for the mutual aid, as well as reminding residents to be aware of all fires on their property, said the news release.
