Fall fun at the fair

The first annual Penhold Fall Fair brought out at least 700 people to enjoy the parade, games, fireworks, reptiles, movies, a cook-off and even some fair rides this past weekend.

Jazmyn Johnson, events coordinator for the town, said the events on Sept. 15 drew quite a crowd.

“There was a lot of people here,” she said. She said the estimate of 700 is just about double last year's attendance at Penhold Days, which were held earlier in the summer. She said switching to the fall fair was an effort to bring more people out.

“It definitely did that,” she said.

A battle of the bands and dance were held Sept. 14 as part of the festivities. She said that drew a crowd of about 150.

Volunteers worked hard to put on the event, including several youth volunteers, she said.
