Day Dental has triple celebration on Innisfail's rodeo weekend (5 photos)

Brother team puts on a community barbecue party to mark community and personal milestones

INNISFAIL — As much as the weekend of June 17 to 19 was a time for Innisfailians to celebrate the town’s western heritage with a parade and rodeo, it was also a triple celebration for Day Dental.

While the brother dentist team of doctors Isaac and Jacob Day had Innisfail’s rodeo weekend as one essential celebration, they also wanted to mark in a special way the 10th anniversary of their highly successful practice, and to officially welcome the community to their dazzling new two-story Day Dental Professional Building at 4890 - 52nd St.

The building just west of Henday Mall, which cost about $1.7 million to construct, opened for business in March but the Day brothers and staff held off until June 17th to officially invite the public to a grand opening.

As for their 10th anniversary of being in business for Innisfailians, Day Dental first opened its door at the Co-op Mall on June 13, 2012.
“This is kind of lumping all those eggs in one basket,” said Isaac of the special June 17th celebration that ran from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

The June 17th barbecue party at the Day Dental Professional Building, which was moved ahead one day out of weather concerns, was clearly cheerful and celebratory for all attendees and the brothers, who enthusiastically cooked up burgers while staff handed out treats to the young.

With the public now resettling into normalcy with the removal of almost all provincial COVID-19 restrictions, Isaac said he and his brother are now feeling a sense of excitement in Innisfail, or what he liked to call a “buzz.

“I think that what's the best way of saying this is just that there's excitement. There's a buzz in Innisfail. There's a buzz in new businesses, new growth,” said Isaac.

“We are feeling extremely optimistic for ourselves here. And that's evident in us putting down mega roots. Really, there's nowhere else we're going.”
