Plea reserved in prison drug drop case

A man charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking reserved his plea when he appeared in Red Deer provincial court on April 20.

Scott Stephen Fitzgerald is accused of throwing drugs in a bag over the fence into the yard of the Bowden Institution on February 19.

According to Jennifer Kovacs of Alberta Justice, Fitzgerald's bail was denied on April 20. The accused is due back in court on May 3.

Chase accused still in custody

A man facing charges of dangerous driving, flight from police, impaired care and control of a motor vehicle, theft and more is still in custody after two court appearances.

Kenneth Peter Robert Nepoose, 20, is accused in an April 8 incident where he is alleged to have avoided sheriffs who tried to pull him over only to be arrested by RCMP later when his truck got stuck.

Nepoose is scheduled to enter his plea on April 24.
