INNISFAIL – Police are searching for the thief who committed a brazen grab of a heavy-duty post pounder from a local business.

On Feb. 12, local Mounties responded to a report of a theft of a Wheatheart Renegade 13 horsepower heavy hitter hydraulic post pounder from an Innisfail business, said Innisfail RCMP Const. Jeff Erb in a news release issued today (Feb. 17).

Erb said the suspect vehicle, a silver Chevrolet Avalanche with black trim, drove in and hooked onto the post pounder. The suspect then left without paying for the item.

Erb said employees at the business attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused to comply and sped away.

RCMP are seeking the assistance of the public to identify the vehicle and occupant, and the whereabouts of the stolen post pounder.
