Mountain View Colts win semifinal Game 1 in overtime

DIDSBURY - The Mountain View Colts won Game 1 in its north division, seven-game semifinal series against the Airdrie Techmation last night.

Played at the Ron Ebbesen Arena in Airdrie, the Feb. 21 Game 1 saw the Colts get goals from Jordan Saunders (assists Nate McNeely and Carter Layden), Haiden Parks (assists Saunders and Trey Stovin), and the captain Paton Rothenbusch (assists Hayden Sotheran and Steven Bell).

Rothenbusch’s goal came at 6:21 of overtime, giving the Colts a 3-2 win.

Colts netminder Chance Griffith got the win. He also won both games in the quarter finals against the Three Hills Thunder.

Game 2 goes tonight at the Didsbury Memorial Complex Arena, starting at  7:45 p.m.

Game 3 is in Airdrie on Friday and Game 4 is in Didsbury on Saturday starting at 8 p.m.
