Mountain View Colts face off against Airdrie Friday

Didsbury-based team is currently seven points ahead of the Thunder

DIDSBURY - The Mountain View Colts are scheduled to face off against the Thunder in Airdrie on Friday night following a hard-fought 5-4 overtime loss against the Cochrane Generals last weekend.

The Jan. 7 game against the Generals in the Didsbury Memorial Complex saw the Colts get goals from Jay Heistad (assist Lucas Mulholland), Jordan Saunders (assists Austin Corsiatto and Chance Griffith), Saunders (assists Corsiatto and Hayden Sotheran), and Carter Layden (assists Hayden Sotheran and Corsiatto).

Colts goalie Chance Griffith stopped 49 of 54 shots in the game. The match saw more than a dozen penalties called.

The Colts are currently seven points ahead of the Thunder coming into Friday’s game at the Ron Ebbesen Arena in Airdrie.

The team is back home at the Didsbury Memorial Complex on Jan. 19 against the Red Deer Vipers.
