Jackknifed semi on Highway 2 near Carstairs overpass delaying traffic

DIDSBURY - Didsbury RCMP advise of poor driving conditions this morning, specifically at the Carstairs overpass on Highway 2.

"At this time, there is a jackknifed travel trailer blocking one of the northbound lanes. Traffic is moving very slow," stated an RCMP press release issued at 9:39 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Alberta 511 is also advising motorists of the Highway 2 lane blockage at the Highway 581 junction.

"Expect delays," Alberta 511's statement said.

"RCMP are asking motorists to please slow down and be cautious when passing through this area," the RCMP statement said.

According to Alberta 511, Highway 2 between Bowden and Crossfield is reported as being partly ice covered with strong wind and drifting snow.
