DIDSBURY - Town council has officially thanked former Didsbury RCMP detachment commander Staff Sgt. Chad Fournier for his four-years of service to the community.

The recognition took place during the recent regularly scheduled council meeting. Fournier recently transferred to the Cochrane RCMP detachment.

During the Sept. 28 council meeting Town of Didsbury Mayor Rhonda Hunter said the community benefited from Fournier’s leadership during his time at the detachment.

“Your interaction and involvement with Didsburians are admired and applauded,” said Hunter. “You built a very positive partnership with our community, a partnership will all value.

“We appreciated the very positive relationship we built with you and Didsbury RCMP detachment members. I convey to you a sincere thank you for your service to our community during your four years posted in Didsbury.”

All councillors also commended Fournier for his local service.

“Thank you for your service,” said Coun. Dorothy Moore.

Staff Sgt. Steven Browne has taken over as interim Didsbury RCMP detachment commander.
