CREMONA - Hundreds of guests of all ages came out to enjoy the 11th annual Cremona and Water Valley Chamber of Commerce Show and Shine extravaganza on Sept. 9.

More than 250 cars, trucks and other vehicles were on display under excellent late summer conditions. As in past years, there were many vintage and rare vehicle proudly displayed by owners.

In all, $1,319 and a large number of donated food items were collected at the show for the Mountain View Food Bank.

“People were just so generous,” said MVFB representative Carol Reid, who attended with her husband Lynn. “We sat at the table and we hardly had room to put our feet down due to all the donations. It was piled high with groceries.”

Demand at the food bank remains very strong these days, she noted.

“It’s isn’t getting easy,” she said. “the last time we were in the food bank, we had 93 people come through the doors, singles and family, to get groceries. It is being really used right now.”

It was the sixth year the food bank has been at the Cremona event, held throughout the village.
