Cause of house fire west of Airdrie not immediately known

Blaze in Buffalo Rub, near Airdrie Alberta, broke out Saturday night.

One person was transported from the scene of a blaze west of Airdrie in Buffalo Rub last night with non-life threatening injuries.

The Airdrie RCMP, Airdrie Fire Department and Rocky View Fire Department responded to a house fire west of Airdrie in Buffalo Rub last night just off of Highway 567.

One adult was transported to the hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.

According to a Facebook post from Airdrie Fire Chief Mike Pirie, the fire started around 9 p.m. and was finally put out around midnight when he posted his final update on the fire.

“Crews are starting to be cleared,” he wrote. “Please stay away as there are hoses to be picked up. No injuries reported to fire crews.”

Pirie stated that the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
