CANMORE – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing Calgary man whose vehicle was found near Harvie Heights.

Canmore RCMP said 24-year-old Liam Williams was reported missing Thursday (Aug. 10) at about 4:15 p.m.

Police said they located a vehicle that belongs to Williams near the Harvie Heights turn-off along the Trans-Canada Highway close to the Banff Park east gates.

They later found personal items believed to be Williams’ during the night in the Bow River near Bridge Road in Canmore.

Police said Kananaskis Mountain Rescue, Alberta Parks conservation officers, Cochrane Search and Rescue and Alpine helicopters are assisting with the search.

Williams is described as being 5’11” and 140 pounds with a slim build, light complexion and brown hair and blue eyes.
