OLDS — Starting tomorrow, defenceman Ronan Seeley of Olds has a second chance to display his skills in the World Junior Hockey Championships in Edmonton.

The event, postponed last December due to COVID-19 issues, was rescheduled to this month. It began Aug. 9 and runs until Aug. 20.

Team Canada hits the ice Aug. 10 when it takes on Latvia.

Seeley, 20, is one of 25 players chosen to represent Canada.

Last December, he picked up a pair of assists before the tournament was postponed. At the time, Canada had a 2-0 record.

As the Albertan reported earlier, Seeley was drafted by the  Carolina Hurricanes during the National Hockey League’s 2020 entry draft. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the team last September.
