A fourth suspect in an alleged kidnapping case, described previously as armed and dangerous, has been arrested in Olds.
Olds resident Mitchell "Mitch" Lewis Engler, 32, was arrested by Olds and Didsbury RCMP at around 4 a.m. Feb. 8.
A warrant had been issued for Engler's arrest on charges of kidnapping with a firearm, extortion with a firearm, uttering threats and possession of stolen property.
He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Didsbury provincial court this Monday, Feb. 12.
As a result, as of Friday morning, all but one of five suspects in the case had been arrested. RCMP spokesman Cpl. Curtis Peters said they were still looking for Tanya Dawn Hoomana, 39, of Didsbury.
Hoomana faces charges of kidnapping with a firearm, extortion with a firearm, and possession of stolen property.
Shortly after 6 p.m. on Jan. 23, Didsbury RCMP were called to a complaint of a male being been taken at gunpoint in the town of Didsbury.
The victim was allegedly threatened to either pay a sum of money or he would face bodily harm, Peters said earlier.
Three other suspects, all Olds residents, were previously arrested in the case.
They are Justin Anglet, 19, Jacob Donkin, 19, and Donald Martin, 39.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Hoomana is asked to call Didsbury RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
