The Sundre RCMP are requesting assistance from the public in identifying the owner of a gas powered generator that was taken sometime between Nov. 10 and 17. The unit was removed from a rural pole shed west of Carstairs.

The Sundre and District Chamber of Commerce executive has asked the province to consider amalgamating the Town of Sundre with a portion of Mountain View County. “We're after shock value here,” said chamber president Mike Beukeboom.

Foothills Terrace condominium residents have successfully lobbied for changes to a rear lane shared between residents and businesses they say has caused major problems for years.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is finding it financially challenging to expand services in Sundre to meet the need for child and youth mentoring. As it enters Year 2 of service the Innisfail-based organization currently has 16 matches in Sundre.

Municipal taxes are slated to rise this year and again next year under draft operational budgets that, for the most part, maintain services for Sundre residents.

With snow now starting to accumulate on the ground, planning is underway for winter use of Sundre's trail system.
