Sundre's Becca Konschuh says she is very excited about heading to Ontario this week for the National Junior Curling Championships.

Becca's Red Deer Junior Ladies team qualified for nationals with a win at provincials in Medicine Hat.

The team is Jocelyn Peterman (skip), Brittany Tran (third), Becca Konschuh (second), and Kristine Anderson (lead). Nancy McInerney is the coach.

The team has played together for three years, having made it to provincials in 2012 and 2011, where they finishing second.

The national championships take place in Napanee, Ontario from Feb. 4 to Feb. 12.

ìWe've been practicing really hard,î said Konschuh. ìWe've been working with J.D. Lind, who has gone to nationals three times. He's been a really big help preparing us mentally and physically for the week ahead. He's helped us in the last couple of years.î

Konschuh is cautiously optimistic about the team's chances at nationals.

ìI think we have a very good shot and we are all really excited to get to the next level,î she said. ìThere are not a lot of returning teams, so everybody is going to be on an even playing field.î

If they win at nationals, Konschuh's team will be heading to the world championships in Sweden.
