No excuse for beaver shooting

It sickened my heart to read of a person going out of his/her way to shoot this helpless creature (beaver – Express July 28). Of course it put Red Deer in a bad light.

Of course it put Red Deer in a bad light. It gives the impression that Albertans are red necks and would rather shoot first and then question later as to why this animal might be attacking what she/he feels as a threat to their environment.

We let our dogs loose and then cry wolf when they are attacked by the local wildlife?

I am a dog owner and if I cannot control my dog than she is not let off her leash. We often fail to realize that we need to share this world! And I think that perhaps we should consider having the off leash park moved to a park setting that does not contain any wildlife.

There are many cities in different countries that just have a fenced park that is for dogs and thus prevents what has just happened.

Wildlife needs protection from idiots like this shooter. I hope he/she gets theirs.
