Letter: Innisfail citizens are struggling too

Town is continually raising taxes and utility bills due to hard times

Re: COVID has cost Innisfail nearly $300,000 in revenue

This is in response to the August article stating the Town of Innisfail is considering a property tax hike due to $300,000 in lost revenue.

I think it would be beneficial to all residents if the town could provide us with certain figures like how much the town saved in wages, office/shop supplies, and other operating costs during COVID.

Innisfail is continually raising taxes and utility bills due to hard times but tend to forget that their citizens are struggling as well.

Please provide us with all the numbers so we can see what the actual loss really is and will this loss justify a tax hike.

Brenda Taks,

Innisfail
