Letter: Going against diversity

Sundre rodeo parade float farmer was just spreading manure – liberally, says letter writer

Re: Racialized caricature of Singh and Trudeau makes Sundre parade go viral for wrong reasons

I don't think there was anything wrong with the float that had a turban-wearing farmer on top of a "Liberal" manure spreader. The float farmer was just spreading manure – liberally.

People from all over the world wear turbans, especially in hot countries in the Middle East and Africa. For the newly immigrated Sikh Canadians and politicians it is wrong to label a whole community as racist.

That is like me saying all Sikhs in Canada are terrorists because they pulled off the biggest terrorist attack in the world by bombing an Air India airplane in 1985.

Further, in no Sikh scripture does it state that Sikhs have to wear a turban or any of the displays they put on for passive Westerners. I have read all the Sikh scriptures since I was a child and they do not mention anything about turbans, at all, nor do they mention carrying dangerous swords and daggers.

The Sikh politicians in Canada, 99 per cent being born in the tribal lands of Punjab India and Pakistan, use all available nefarious tools to separate and divide Canada and Canadians.

They politicize race, religion, and colour of skin to make illogical government policies and laws. This is wrong and creates hatred and goes against diversity.
