I am the biggest defender of free speech and political protest, but really think these people’s message was lost because of the juvenile and offensive way it was communicated.
I doubt that they have the intellectual capacity to realize that through their demonstration of racial bigotry, they are in fact demonstrating the same intolerance that they are protesting and object to from our political leaders. Hypocritical and stupid.
I can say with some authority, that this attitude is not part of the Sundre Pro Rodeo committee, nor is it a part of the culture or heritage that is celebrated at the Sundre Pro Rodeo.
A person was – and still is – judged by the quality of their character and by their actions and nothing more. It is a shame these people missed on both accounts.
They need to grow the hell up, and shame on anyone who defends them.
Bigotry is never funny.
