Re: Letter: Support Alberta-made products

After reading Dean Moore’s letter about his disappointment regarding finding locally-produced products, I felt to react as a local farmer.

My family and I run a dairy farm near Innisfail. It’s not typical to find B.C. milk on Alberta shelves.

It may relate to a maintenance issue at a milk processing plant and therefore we have to work with other provinces that have more processing available and ship that product to Alberta.

Thankfully, there are many locally-produced dairy products in our grocery stores and you can find them using the Blue Cow Canadian Quality Milk logo or by looking at the packaging about where it was produced.

It’s important to remember all dairy farms across Canada must meet the same standards.

My family and all the dairy farmers across Alberta appreciate everyone supporting our local family farms.
