How often does anyone from Innisfail read the Mountain View Gazette?
In our house it goes straight to the recycle bin and we only read what is in the Province, hoping that all the news pertaining to the citizens of Innisfail is in it.
But to my amazement out of sheer wasting time I decided to pick up the Gazette and flip through the pages.
Here near the back is an article about the Innisfail school renovations, and where we are sitting as far as the priority for the provincial government.
Now if I would have had this information on hand on the day it was in the paper I would have thought twice about sending a letter to my MLA in regards to the needs of our community.
But what amazed me more is that in talking to other people who have students in the John Wilson or St. Marguerite schools, they too had not seen this article.
So I wonder why if this news pertains to our area was it not in our local paper. What other articles have been missed because the publisher feels they should be in one paper versus the other.
Is there not a way to have it in both papers so that it can reach the public that it is concerning, as this article was about ‘Innisfail school renovations, Olds portables priorities for RD Catholic.’
Better yet is there not away to eliminate so much paper going into the recycle to make one paper with all of this combined? But then those are my thoughts.
