The crime rate in Olds and area is down, according to Olds RCMP Cpl. Mike Black. “Crime's down overall,” Black said during a meeting of the Olds & District Community Policing Advisory Committee.

Basketball gets boost from town
Council approved a $1,000 sponsorship for the ASAA 3A basketball provincials to be held at Olds High School this year. Both the senior girls and boys basketball championships will be held in town from March 17 to 19.

Equipment purchase makes firefighters breathe easier

Town water, sewer rates rising
Residential and commercial water and wastewater (sewage) consumption rates in Olds are rising, starting next month. Water rates are rising by five cents per cubic metre and wastewater rates are increasing by 20 cents a cubic metre.
