Mountain View Credit Union (MVCU) and the Eckville District Savings & Credit Union (EDSCU) are considering a possible merger.

The Olds Institute for Community and Regional Development is changing its bylaws to make room for Mountain View County to become a "core" member. Mitch Thomson, institute executive director, said nothing formal has come before county council yet.

The Olds Figure Skating Club held its carnival on March 20 at the Sportsplex. The title of the show was called Trip Around the World. Each group took on a place in the world as a theme for their routine.

Bowden mayor Robb Stuart paid tribute last week to the passing of former town councillor Albert Gamble. Abby (Albert) Gamble passed away March 7, at age 67. He was born in Mannville, Alta., which is about 83 kilometres west of Lloydminster, on Aug.

George Arden received a special honour at Sunrise Village this month for his service in the Second World War. Arden, 94, was the recipient of the Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour.

Theft of vehicle licence plates continues to be a problem in Olds. Olds RCMP say on March 10, two such incidents occurred. On that day, a licence plate was stolen from an RV in the 4800 Block of 50 Street.
