An exhibition of art created by First Nations artists is now on display at the Olds Municipal Library.

The Everything Olds Information and Entrepreneurship Centre was officially opened June 22.

The Town of Olds ñ through the provincial Environment and Parks ministry and a contractor -- plans to kill the estimated 30,000 to 40,000 goldfish living in the Winter Lake stormwater retention pond because they're deemed to be an environmental risk.

Council has approved the return of $406,325 in loan repayments made by the Olds Institute (OI) to the town, in an attempt to help the organization manage a ìcash flow situationî as it works to consolidate loans over a longer term.

BOWDEN - No activities were planned in Bowden to celebrate Canada Day this year. Instead, fireworks will be held in Bowden's Centennial Park to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Bowden Bonanza Daze Rodeo, which takes place July 28-30 this year.

About 150 people filled the lobby and other rooms in Mount View Lodge last week for the official opening of Rotary Gardens, a green space in the middle of the Olds seniors' facility.

An Olds firefighter has received a 20-year exemplary service medal. Training officer Justin Andrew was presented with that medal during the Alberta Fire Chiefs Association Conference in Red Deer on June 11.
