OLDS — Smile Cookie Days at Tim Hortons are on again; Sept. 14-20.

Once again, $1 goes to help support local charities.

Todd Jacobs, who co-owns five Tims restaurants in Olds, Sundre, Didsbury and Innisfail, says proceeds raised in those locations will go to the same charities as last time.

Proceeds from the two Olds locations will go to the Hope 4 MVC Kids Society, which helps families in Mountain View County area cope with medical-related expenses so they can concentrate on helping their child.

The Didsbury store will raise funds for the Wild Rose Humane Society.

Funds raised at the Sundre store will go to helping Greenwood Neighbourhood Place.

Jacobs notes the Sundre location has been raising funds for that non-profit for several years now.

“They do a fantastic job,” he said during an interview, adding last year the money they raised ranked “near the top” in percentage of sales among Alberta locations.

Funds raised at the Innisfail location will go to Youth HQ which coordinates the Innisfail branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Jacobs said this year things may change a bit during Smile Cookie Days due to COVID-19 pandemic protocols.

He said instead of having volunteers decorate cookies they may do that in-house this year.
