OLDS — RCMP are looking for two suspects believed to have been involved in a break-in that occurred in Olds as well as “erratic driving” in Bowden.

It all began at about 6 a.m. on Jan. 3 when Olds RCMP received a report of a break and enter at The Tire Shop.

“An older model white Ford F350 quad cab truck (diesel), with a red/orange slip tank lengthwise in the box, was seen pushing into the bay door of the business to gain entry,” an RCMP news release says.

“A male suspect (passenger of the vehicle) entered through the damaged bay door and searched two parked vehicles in the repair bay, stealing an iPhone from one of the vehicles.

“RCMP believe the suspects were hoping to steal a vehicle from inside the business and that an audible alarm likely scared them off.”

Police have released descriptions of two suspects in this incident.

The driver is male, described as large and heavy, wearing blue pants and a blue sweatshirt.

They say the second suspect, the passenger, had a thin build.

He had a moustache and glasses and was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt with a white emblem on the left chest.

He was also wearing blue pants, black shoes and a grey brimmed hat.

At about 8 a.m., Innisfail RCMP announced that the suspect vehicle was now in Bowden.

According to the news release, it “fled erratically through the ditch near the Highway 2 overpass westbound on Highway 587 attempting to evade police.”

The vehicle was last seen westbound on Highway 587.

RCMP believe it was involved in other similar incidents in many other areas during the last few days.

Police say if you think you’ve seen the vehicle or the suspects, don’t approach them; contact police instead.
