This year's edition of École Deer Meadow School's annual Terry Fox Run raised $1,700, well above the school's goal of $1,400.

The run was held Oct. 3.

Grade 8 students Ella Poiron and Jaecia Joyce outlined what happened.

"We have shoes, paper shoes, put up around our school that people coloured and they put their dreams on them — what their dream was," Poiron said.

A box for donations was set up at the school office and outside as students participated in the run.

Joyce said organizers were pretty happy with the amount raised.

The whole school participated, Poiron and Joyce said.

They said it took about two weeks to organize it.
