1943 - 2023

Agnes Thompson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2023, at the age of 79. She was born in Drumheller in 1943 and grew up on the family farm in Rumsey, AB.  In 1961, Agnes married the love of her life, Cliff Thompson, and together they started a family in Brooks, AB. They were blessed with four children, and over the years, their family expanded to include seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Agnes's heart overflowed with love and joy, as she watched her family grow and thrive.  Her warm loving nature earned her the endearing title of Grandma T.

Some of Cliff and Agnes’s most cherished memories were spent at their summer home at Dickson Dam, surrounded by their grandchildren.  During their retirement years, Cliff and Agnes enjoyed their winters in Arizona, before settling in Didsbury, where they found enjoyment and created cherished memories. Agnes found immense happiness in the laughter, stories, and love that filled those precious friend and family gatherings.

Agnes will always be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering love, and selflessness. Her warm smile and laughter could light up any room, and her nurturing nature created a loving and welcoming home for her family.

Agnes is survived by her devoted husband, Cliff, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, friends, and family who provided love, support, and comfort throughout Agnes's life. Their compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Agnes's life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Agnes.

Agnes’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
