Judy Valerie Schlichenmayer-Schneider passed away at the age of 63.
Judy was born on October 23, 1956 in Olds, Alberta to Alberta & Paul Schneider. She had one sister, Vicki. She grew up an excellent marksman on the Schneider Farm east of Olds. She attended school in Olds and continued her education graduating from Olds College. Judy married William Schlichenmayer on July 13, 1974. Judy and Will became involved in competitive Gymkhana, camping, horseback riding in the mountains and enjoyed playing card games with friends and family. Together they had two sons, Darcy & Ty Schlichenmayer. They would eventually run a gas station and towing company, which she continued to operate with her son, Darcy, after Will & Ty’s passing in 2005.
Judy was heavily involved in the community with her business and volunteered for many organizations such as; The Olds Chamber of Commerce, Olds Institute, Victim Services, The Olds Rural Crime Watch Club, The Olds Kiwanis, and Peaks to Prairies Tourism.
Judy was predeceased by her parents Alberta & Paul Schneider, her husband Will Schlichenmayer, her son Ty Schlichenmayer, and her friend Wally Gunderson. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Darcy & Breanne Schlichenmayer, her grandchildren Ava & Ty Schlichenmayer, her sister, Vicki Schneider and her niece & nephew-in-law, Jennifer & Derek Ware and their son, Alexander-Quintin, along with many other extended family members. Judy was a beloved wife, partner, mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend. She will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
