Robert(Bob) Wright Wood was born to John and Jean Wood August 11, 1944 in Olds.
He passed away peacefully November 24, 2019 at the age of 75 years.
He was raised west of Bowden on the family farm. Farming was his life and after completing the AG Mechanic’s course at SAIT, he returned to Bowden to farm with his dad as well as taking a part-time position at the Olds College teaching diesel mechanics. He married Pat Soder in 1972 and shortly after started growing and selling certified seed for over 40 years. They were blessed with 3 children Sterling (Kristie Anne), Carrie (Neil), Marshall (Jennifer); three grandchildren Emily, Cassidy, Carson; one brother Bill (Monique) of Bowden; one sister Betty of Sundre. Bob was a charter member of the Bowden Lions Club and a lifelong member of the Bowden United Church. He was well known as Bob the Banjo Man. He loved music and played guitar and banjo most of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.
