1946 – 2021

It is with a deep sense of sorrow and loss, that our family sadly announces the sudden passing of our father, grandfather, brother and loving husband, Richard ‘Rick’ Fry, with his loving wife, Lori by his side, at his home in Innisfail, Alberta, on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the age of 74 years.

Rick was born on December 31, 1946 in Hartney, Manitoba to Connie and Howard Fry, where he grew to be a young man. Besides spending time with his family, Rick was a competitor and loved board games; he especially had a passion for sports, in particular hockey and NFL football. Rick had some success of his own in his younger days playing hockey, at the Junior Level, for the Brandon Wheat Kings. He was so proud of his son, Rick Jr.’s many achievements; which included him playing hockey at the Junior level and trying out for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Rick Sr. was a ‘CLASSIC’ and will always be remembered as a family man with a bright and energetic personality, along with a great sense of humour.

Rick will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Lori Ross, his son, Rick Jr. and his two step sons, Bryan (Amy) and Dean (Tammy). He will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Ted, Maurice, and Kelly Fry and his sister, Annella Kruk.  Rick was such a proud grandfather to his three grandsons, Reid, Pratt and Tate, along with his two step grandsons, Braydon and Devon.

Rick was predeceased by his parents, Connie and Howard, and Sharon, the mother to his son, Rick Jr.

A Private Family Service will be held. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.heartlandfuneralservices.com. Arrangements in care of: Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., 4415 – 49 Street, Innisfail, Alberta. Phone: 403.227.0006   Fax: 403.227.6437
