CHERYLE WENDY PERSSON (THOMPSON)

 October 14, 1953 -  April 10, 2020

Age: 66 years.

Cheryl was born in Calgary, Alberta to Floyd Hilton Thompson and his wife Jean Isabel Thompson (MacMillan). She was the third of six children, Terrance, Timothy, Sharon, Kevin, and Matthew.

Cheryle spent her youth in Calgary, Sundre, and Creston, BC. She met her husband Robert (Bob) Persson and married in 1971. Soon after she welcomed her own 3 sons, Robert, Michael, Kyle. The family lived around Radium Hot Springs, BC until they moved to Sundre in the mid-80’s.

Cheryle devoted her life to her family, raising her boys and providing a safe haven for any stray that came along, human or animal. Cheryle had a huge, caring heart and could not handle to see any creature suffer. Many people of all ages benefitted from Cheryle’s love. Ask any of her “adopted” children. A truer friend could not be found but she did not suffer fools.

Cheryle had many skills. She was an excellent cook, baker and homemaker. She loved the outdoors and hunted, fished, camped, ATV’d as much as she could. She could repair almost anything mechanical from small engines, vehicles and farm equipment. She was a talented wood worker, built beautiful cabinetry, plus could frame a house, wire it, plumb, and finish it. She was skilled with needle and thread, sewing clothing, blankets and quilts. She was an accomplished knitter making clothing and socks for her loved ones.

Cheryle’s greatest treasures were her family and her friends. She loved them all dearly. She loved her parents Floyd and Jean until their deaths, and her husband’s parents Edwin “Doc” and Bernice until their death’s. She mourned the passing of her brother-in-law Daniel and her sister-in-law Sherri as well as numerous close friends and family members before her.

She leaves to mourn her Husband Robert (Bob) Persson, her Sister Sharon (Daniel) Barnsdale, her Brothers Terrance & Deb, Timothy & Carol, Kevin, and Matthew & Gail, her Brothers & Sisters-in-law Don & Jan Couper, Ken & Doreen Persson, her sons Robert Persson, Michael (Cheryl) Persson, and Kyle (Erin) Persson, numerous nieces and nephews, and her many grandchildren. Braeden, Emma, Faith, Neo, Sarah, Kyra, Levi, Christian, and Ryder.

Cheryle’s humor, kindness and selflessness will continue to inspire all those lucky enough to know and be loved by her. Her light will shine brightly in our hearts and forever in our memories.

A celebration of Cheryle’s Life will be held at a future date due to the current restrictions on travel. The Family will post notices with the details.
