Mr. David ‘John’ Newsham of Innisfail, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Long Term Care Centre on May 7, 2022 at the age of 76 years.

John was born, raised and educated in Birtle, Manitoba and later attended the University of Calgary where he obtained his Masters in Economics. He proudly drove bus for Greyhound Bus Lines for over thirty years and also started CanWest Tours servicing Canada and the United States. John then became owner and operator of Innisfail Towing and Innisfail Lock and Key.

During the past twenty-five plus years, John was very proud to be a member of the Innisfail Rotary Club, where he had 100% attendance, not matter where John was, he attended meetings religiously.

John is lovingly remembered by his wife, Eddie ‘Muffie’ Edwards, his sister, Enid Haines of Manitoba, his daughter, Theresa Zelych (Charlie Stowe) of Airdrie, his niece, Deanna (Jon) Hawtin, and her children, Peyton, Ashten and Addison, his nephew’s wife, Barbara Haines and their children, Lee and Jesse. John will also be lovingly remembered by his stepchildren, Steven (Deanna) Edwards of Vulcan, and Shari Edwards (Cyril) of Coalhurst, Alberta as well as step grandchildren, Leslie, Sadie, Chase, Corina, and Reece and one step great grandchild, Genesis.

John was predeceased by his parents Ronald and Grace, his first wife, Myrtle Zelych and his nephew, Wade Haines.
