     June 1, 1949 - December 10, 2021

The family are sad to announce the sudden passing of Betty, December 10, 2021 at the age of 72 years at Edson Alberta Hospital after a brief but ferocious battle with pancreatic cancer.

Betty was born June 1, 1949 at Georgetown Ontario and later married Richard H Louth in Glen Williams Ontario on June 30 1967. Moving to Calgary in 1978 and working her way up to the Assistant to the President of a top Oil & Gas Company. 1994 Betty then moved her family to the Sundre area where she met many close friends and called this area home to take on the various challenges and rewards of alternative farming and raising Grandson Kale.

2008, after many years in Sundre, Betty and Rick took another step in their journey to move to Chip Lake Alberta where they found their log home and property on the lake to renovate and make their dreams come to reality.

Survived by husband Rick, children Rick Jr, Michelle, Grandson Kale (and Sarah Strum), siblings, Debbie (Deanna, Jason), Barry (Tammy, Christian Matthew), Dale (Katy, Amanda, Melissa) and families; Uncles, cousins and families. Predeceased by her parents Jim (James) William Norton and June Lillian Norton (nee Hillier) and brother Bob Norton all of Georgetown Ontario.

Bettys’ uncanny ability to multi-task, manage a home, business/farm sales, entertain family, friends as well as strangers (who became friends), love hard and unconditionally, conquer endless hurdles in life, provide for her family and extended family, harvested food from the gardens, fields, trees, skies and water and her cracking jokes and making others laugh until her final breaths; made this lady truly remarkable!
